  1. 6. Some New Contributions in the Theory of Hardy Type Inequalities

    Författare :Markos Fisseha Yimer; Sorina Barza; Lars-Erik Persson; Martin Lind; Liviu-Gabriel Marcoci; Lubos Pick; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; integral inequalities; Hardy-type inequalities; Pólya-Knopp’s inequality; Jensen’s inequality; Minkowski’s inequality; Beckenbach-Dresher’s inequality; sharp constants; measures; superquadratic functions; refinements; Banach function spaces; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we derive various generalizations and refinements of some classical inequalities in different function spaces. We consider some of the most important inequalities namely the Hardy, Pólya-Knopp, Jensen, Minkowski and Beckenbach-Dresher inequalities. The main focus is put on the Hardy and their limit Pólya-Knopp inequalities. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to explore social capital and inequalities in mental health among young adolescents in Sweden. This is a compilation thesis comprising four studies. Studies I and II are quantitative studies of crosssectional data from the Swedish Health Behaviour in School-aged Children survey. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Studies of some Operators of Harmonic Analysis in certain Function Spaces with Applications to PDEs

    Författare :Staffan Lundberg; Norway Narvik UiT The Arctic University of Norway Department of Computer Science and Computational Engineering Faculty of Science and Technology; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Operators; Hardy Operators; Potential Operators; Singular Operators; Function Spaces; Morrey Spaces; H¨older Spaces; Partial Differential Equations; Inequalities; Hardy Type Inequalities; Weights; Applications; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : The study in this PhD thesis aims at development of certain mathematical methods used in applications, in particular, in the study of regularity properties of solutions in various mathematical models described by Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). To this end, we study various operators of harmonic analysis in certain function spaces, since solutions to many PDEs may be expressed in terms of such operators. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Improved Lp Hardy Inequalities

    Författare :Jesper Tidblom; Ari Laptev; Andrzej Szulkin; Achilles Tertikas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spectral theory; Hardy inequality; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Sammanfattning : Paper 1 : A geometrical version of Hardy's inequality for W_0^{1,p}(D).The aim of this article is to prove a Hardy-type inequality, concerning functions in W_0^{1,p}(D) for some domain D in R^n, involving the volume of D and the distance to the boundary of D. The inequality is a generalization of a previously proved inequality by M. and T. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Withstanding austerity : economic crisis and health inequalities in Spain

    Författare :Juan Antonio Córdoba Doña; Per E. Gustafsson; Miguel San Sebastian; Stefan Fors; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Economic crisis; mental health; socioeconomic inequalities; health determinants; health care utilisation; Spain; Andalusia; Epidemiology; epidemiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Along with the austerity measures introduced in many countries, the economic crisis affecting Europe since 2008 seems to have impacted many aspects of the health of the Spanish population and has had a negative effect on the provision health services. An increasing body of knowledge has shown a clear impact of the current crisis on suicidal behaviour and mental health, and a less consistent effect on physical health and access to healthcare.
