1. Populärmusik, kluster och industriell konkurrenskraft : En ekonomisk-geografisk studie av svensk musikindustri
Sammanfattning : The economic importance of design-intensive and cultural-products industries has grown in recent decades. One case in point is Sweden, where internationally competitive industries have emerged in areas such as multimedia, fashion, and music. LÄS MER
2. Ultra-sensitive measurements of magnetically labelled RCA products in a microfluidic channel using a high-Tc SQUID
Sammanfattning : The development of a nucleic acid (deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), ribonucleic acid (RNA)) bioassay based on magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with a high-Tc superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) gradiometer as a magnetic readout is described. The specific binding of the MNPs to the target DNA molecules changes the MNPs size distribution and, therefore, the relaxation dynamics and is measured by magnetic ac susceptometry. LÄS MER
3. Stimulating Industrial Development in Uganda Through Open Innovation Incubators
Sammanfattning : Uganda’s economy is agro-based; although the country is land locked it has great potential for industrial development. It is well endowed with natural resources and salubrious climate, but with little success in transforming its agricultural and mineral wealth into processed commodities for local, regional and international markets. 4. Structure-Control of the Rheological Behaviour of Particulate Gels
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is the relation between the rheological and structural properties of mixed particulate gels, based on β-lactoglobulin, determined under both dynamic and static conditions. Rheological characteristics were recorded during formation of the gels, on set gels and during deformation and fracture of the gels, using viscoelastic measurements in shear and in compression and fracture mechanics in tension. 5. Cryogels Based on Crosslinked Cells as Green Biocatalysts for Biotechnology
Sammanfattning : Abstract Due to the finite nature of fossil resources and their environmental impact, such as greenhouse gases and climate change, the bio-based production of chemicals, materials and fuels is the subject of extensive research in industrial biotechnology. Biotransformation and fermentation are considered to be mild, “green” processes that make use of effective and reliable biocatalysts to provide bio-based chemicals. LÄS MER
