  1. 11. Translation as Linear Transduction : Models and Algorithms for Efficient Learning in Statistical Machine Translation

    Författare :Markus Saers; Joakim Nivre; Anna Sågvall Hein; Dekai Wu; Kevin Knight; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; linear transduction; linear transduction grammar; inversion transduction; zipper finite-state automaton; zipper finite-state transducer; formal language theory; formal transduction theory; translation; automatic translation; machine translation; statistical machine translation; Computational linguistics; Datorlingvistik; Language technology; Språkteknologi; Computational Linguistics; Datorlingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : Automatic translation has seen tremendous progress in recent years, mainly thanks to statistical methods applied to large parallel corpora. Transductions represent a principled approach to modeling translation, but existing transduction classes are either not expressive enough to capture structural regularities between natural languages or too complex to support efficient statistical induction on a large scale. 2. 12. Design, Modelling and Control of Electrical Machines - With Applications to Iron-powder Machines and Acoustic Noise

    Författare :David Martinez; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEM; induction machine; noise prediction; vector control; acoustic noise; HEV; series magnetization; leakage reduction; thermal model; FEM; MEC; claw-poles; SMC; slip-ring-less machine; sound intensity measurements; vibration; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two parts, the first dealing with the design of iron-powder synchronous machines, and the second with the analysis and prediction of the acoustic noise in electrical machines. In Part I, a 1.6 kW electrically magnetized claw-pole machine with magnetically conducting end-plates has been analyzed and a prototype tested. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Thermal Modelling of Small Cage Induction Motors

    Författare :Gunnar Kylander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal network; thermal model; losses; TEFC; induction motor;

    Sammanfattning : The loadability of electric machines is above all determined by temperature limits. In this work, thermal network models, suitable for totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) induction motors, are used to predict the machine temperatures. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Word Sense Embedded in Geometric Spaces - From Induction to Applications using Machine Learning

    Författare :Mikael Kågebäck; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; word sense induction; word sense disambiguation; word embeddings; extractive summarisation; neural networks; deep learning; natural language procsessing; reinforcement learning;

    Sammanfattning : Words are not detached individuals but part of a beautiful interconnected web of related concepts, and to capture the full complexity of this web they need to be represented in a way that encapsulates all the semantic and syntactic facets of the language. Further, to enable computational processing they need to be expressed in a consistent manner so that similar properties are encoded in a similar way. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Analysis and Reduction of Parasitic Effects in Induction Motors With Die-Cast Rotors

    Författare :Alexander Stening; Chandur Sadarangani; Nicola Bianchi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminium rotors; asynchronous torques; copper rotors; die-cast rotors; induction machines; inter-bar currents; modulated rotors; starting torque; stray losses; synchronous torques;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a study of inter-bar current effects on induction motors with die-cast aluminium and die-cast copper rotors. The parasitic effects introduced by these currents are analyzed and possible solutions to these problems are presented. This is realized by developing analytical tools for the simulation of inter-bar current effects. LÄS MER
