11. The impact of an Electrification of Road Transportation on the Electricity system in Scandinavia
Sammanfattning : The transport sector needs to reduce CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels with low-carbon options. An electrification of the road transport sector through electric vehicles (EVs) with static charging; electric road systems (ERS); and using electricity to produce a fuel, are all suggested as possible options. 12. Energy Usage in Supermarkets - Modelling and Field Measurements
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates a special type of energy system, namely energy use in supermarkets through modelling, simulations and field studies. A user-friendly computer program, CyberMart, which calculates the total energy performance of a supermarket, is presented. LÄS MER
13. Load Shifting and Storage of Cooling Energy through Ice Bank or Ice Slurry Systems : modelling and experimental analysis
Sammanfattning : Ice based Cool Thermal Energy Storage (CTES) systems have attracted much attention during last few decades. The reasons are mainly of economical and environmental nature. LÄS MER
14. Land and climate effects of bioenergy - Brazilian sugarcane ethanol and combined biofuel-district heating in Europe
Sammanfattning : According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, use of fossil fuels is the largest source ofthe increase in atmospheric CO2. The second largest is land use change. To reach stringent climate targets, emissions from fossil fuel combustion and land use change will need to be reduced to near zerowithin a few decades. LÄS MER
15. Interaction between defossilisation of basic industries and relocation : Scenario-based explorative and normative transition pathways to electrification for European basic industries and specific clusters
Sammanfattning : The steel and chemical production industries are the largest industrial emitters of greenhouse gases in the European Union, together accounting for half of the EU’s industrial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. A promising strategy for achieving deep GHG emissions reductions is the electrification of these two industries, which would depend on the rapid expansion of renewable electricity supply. LÄS MER
