11. Energy Usage in Supermarkets - Modelling and Field Measurements
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates a special type of energy system, namely energy use in supermarkets through modelling, simulations and field studies. A user-friendly computer program, CyberMart, which calculates the total energy performance of a supermarket, is presented. LÄS MER
12. Identification and Synthesis of Components for Vibration Transfer Path Analysis
Sammanfattning : Transmission of structure-borne vibrations in built-up structures, e.g. vehicles such as aircraft, automobiles and trains, is addressed. Methodologies for modeling, analysis, prediction and reduction of vibrations are developed. LÄS MER
13. Sexual conflict and selection on pistil and pollen traits
Sammanfattning : The incidence of sexual selection in plants is today acknowledged, however, just as in animals, evolution and maintenance of mate choice is gravely underexplored. Moreover, the potential for sexual conflicts to occur in plants has only been assessed empirically to a very limited degree. LÄS MER
14. Dark Matter in the Solar System, Galaxy, and Beyond
Sammanfattning : There is evidence that dark matter constitutes a majority of the Universe's matter content. Yet, we are ignorant about its nature. Understanding dark matter requires new physics, possibly in the form of a new species of fundamental particles. LÄS MER
15. Involvement of the immune system in phytohaemagglutinin-induced structural and functional precocious maturation of the gut in young rats
Sammanfattning : Mammals are born with an immature gastrointestinal (GI) tract that allows the uptake of the specific nutrients and bioactive macromolecules in the milk, especially the protecting maternal antibodies. Eventually during weaning, the intake of milk decreases while that of solid food increases, and the GI system undergoes prominent structural and functional changes adapting the young this dietary change.
