  1. 1. Fångar i ett nätverk? : Fängelser, interaktioner och medbrottslingsskap

    Författare :Lena Roxell; Jerzy Sarnecki; Eva Tiby; Britta Kyvsgaard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; prisons; inmates; interactions; co-offending; networks; gangs; prison gangs; Criminology; Kriminologi; kriminologi; Criminology;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the thesis is to study how contacts/relationships are established in prison, and whether this is of significance for co-offending. A further objective is that of studying co-offending among individuals classified as gang members. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Interactions between plants, microbes and insects

    Författare :Laura J. A. van Dijk; Ayco J. M. Tack; Arjen Biere; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aboveground–belowground interactions; Anemone nemorosa; fungal pathogens; insect herbivores; plant–pathogen–insect interactions; pollination; soil microorganisms; spatiotemporal disease dynamics; Quercus robur; ekologi och evolution; Ecology and Evolution;

    Sammanfattning : Plants interact with an astonishing diversity of insects and microorganisms. Both above- and belowground, plants are attacked by herbivores and pathogens, and interact with mutualists such as pollinating insects and beneficial microorganisms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Strategic Interactions among Swedish Local Governments

    Författare :Karin Edmark; Matz Dahlberg; Sören Blomquist; Jan Brueckner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Economics; Strategic Interactions; Spatial Interactions; Tax Competition; Welfare Competition; Fiscal Federalism; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay 1 (with Matz Dahlberg) investigates if local governments react on the welfare benefit levels in neighbouring jurisdictions when setting their own benefit levels. The IV estimates indicate that there exists a "race-to-the-bottom" and that the effect is economically as well as statistically significant. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Indirect biotic interactions in the rhizosphere

    Författare :Natalia Ladygina; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The rhizosphere (the soil environment around plant roots) is characterized by complex direct and indirect interactions among its organisms. Studies of interactions among organisms in the rhizosphere are difficult to carry out due to a high diversity of inconspicuous organisms on a micro scale and the highly heterogeneous nature of the soil environment. 5. 5. Species interactions and community structure

    Författare :Peter Frodin; Technology and Social Change (WTS) Centre for Work; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; Ekologi; spatial structure; local stability; enrichment; species interactions; Community structure; population dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : In this theses I have focused on how the mechanisms of species interactions affect community structure. It is well known that certain species may have a particularly strong influence on the structure of a community. What is not fully understood is how to characterize these species that have such a strong impact on community structure. LÄS MER
