Sammanfattning : This thesis examines strategies and practices, in Soviet ethnographic research, concerning terminologies for and classifications of what in research texts are conventionally called “supernatural beings” in the world views of the Samoyedic peoples. Sammanfattning : The ceremonial drum, with its drumhead filled with pictures and tightened over an oval or oviformed wooden frame or bowl, was the most important tool of the noaidi, the Sami shaman. By outsiders however, were they missionaries during the 17th century or researchers during 20th, the Sami drum has often been demonised as ‘devilish’ or belitted as ‘primitive’, and labelled ‘troll-drum’. 3. Dihte gievrie – det vi möter i respekt : Berättelser om en sydsamisk trumma
Sammanfattning : In 2010, five people made an unusual find: an old gievrie, a South Sami drum. They found it in the landscape near the village of Røyrvik, in the Norwegian part of Saepmie, close to the national border with Sweden.
