  1. 11. Methods for selection and optimisation of radiotherapy and early therapy evaluation in breast cancer

    Författare :Tomas Jansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Breast cancer; human; radiotherapy; multi-leaf collimator; breast-conservingsurgery; local recurrence; p53; positron emission tomography; chemotherapy evaluation; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Adjuvant systemic therapy for breast cancer, the most common malignancy in females, increases survival and this has recently also been demonstrated for postoperative radiotherapy. The aims of this study were to develop an optimised radiotherapeutic technique for postoperative treatment, to analyse the association between p53 status in node-negative patients and radiotherapy, to investigate the incidence of in-breast relapses after conservative surgery and radiotherapy and to determine if positron emissiontomography could be useful for early evaluation of polychemotherapy. 2. 12. Cyclin E overexpression and associated events in human breast cancer

    Författare :Maria Stighall; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; patologisk anatomi; Patologi allmän ; pathological anatomy; General pathology; tumour growth pattern; invasion; proliferation; ID2; cyclin E; pRb; cell cycle; breast cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Unrestrained proliferation is a hallmark of cancer and genetic defects within G1/S-phase regulation and the pRb pathway occur frequently. Proliferation control can be circumvented either by excess cyclin D1 or cyclin E, alterations that can define two alternative tumour biologic pathways in breast cancer. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Molecular Genetic Alterations In Endometrial And Ovarian Cancers

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecological cancer diagnosed in western countries. Complex atypical hyperplasia (CAH) reflects a state of hyperestrinism and its role as a precursor lesion of this cancer is established. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Balancing - Cancer from a primary care perspective. Diagnosis, posttraumatic stress, and end-of-life care

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores cancer from a primary care perspective covering three areas: diagnosis, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and end-of-life care. We analyzed patient records of every child diagnosed with a malignancy in a defined area. During 12 years 68 children were diagnosed (incidence 14/100,000). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Register studies of cancer in the Southern Health Care Region in Sweden

    Författare :Bo Attner; Medicinsk onkologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer risk; epidemiology; incidence; comorbidity; survival; partner; health care costs; population-based register study;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to study different aspect of health care use and health care costs on a population based level for persons with cancer and their partners, and from an individual level to explore the impact of comorbidities in incidence and survival. In the beginning of the study all persons in the Southern Health Care Region in Sweden diagnosed with colon, rectal, breast, prostate and lung cancer during the period 2000 to 2005 were identified via the Swedish Cancer Register.
