    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the effect of microstructural variation on the mechanical properties and deformation behavior of ductile iron. To research and determine these effects, two grades of ductile iron, (i) GJS-500-7 and (ii) high silicon GJS-500-14, were cast in a geometry containing several plates with different section thicknesses in order to produce microstructural variation. 2. 2. Genetic characterization of non-Hodgkin lymphomas using in situ hybridization

    Författare :Svetlana Lagercrantz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Myelodysplastic syndrome; non-Hodgkin lymphoma; fluorescencein situ hybridization; LAZ3BCL6 expression; chromosome rearrangements;

    Sammanfattning : Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) has been shown to be a valuable and important technique in cytogenetics, as a complement to traditional banding analysis. This thesis focus on the characterization of chromosomal rearrangements in two hematological neoplasias, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) using FISH. LÄS MER

  3. 3. In situ electron microscopy of strain-induced effects on electrical and photovoltaic properties of GaAs nanowires - site specific and quantitative studies

    Författare :Jonatan Holmér; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; In situ electron microscopy; Solar cells; Elastic strain engineering; Semiconductor nanowires;

    Sammanfattning : Semiconductor nanowires have different physical properties than their bulk counterparts due to their small physical dimensions and high surface-to-volume ratio. The nanowire geometry entails enhanced optical absorption, widened possibilities to grow material heterostructures and ability to withstand high levels of strain. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Proton Conducting Ceramics; Synthesis, Characterization and Sample Cell Environments

    Författare :FRANCIS GACHAO KINYANJUI; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; perovskites; neutron diffraction; Rietveld refinements; BaSnO3; in-situ cell; deuteron position; proton conduction; BaZrO3;

    Sammanfattning : Acceptor doped Perovskite ceramics have been shown to exhibit high levels of protonic conduction in humid atmospheres. However significant grain boundary resistance and long sintering times required to achieve sufficient grain size growth has hindered their widespread application as electrolyzers, fuel cells and gas separation membranes. 5. 5. Hybrid Superconductor/Ferromagnet junctions with a strongly ferromagnetic barrier

    Författare :Olena Kapran; Vladimir Krasnov; Thilo Bauch; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Josephson junctions; planar Josephson junctions; micro nanoscale fabrication; micromagnetic state; in-situ characterization technique; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The spin-triplet superconducting state, predicted in superconductor /ferromagnet heterostructures remains one of the most exotic states of nature. It is expected that the triplet state can be switched on/off by changing the relative orientation of magnetization in multilayer Josephson spin-valve structures. LÄS MER
