1. On the deformation behavior and cracking of ductile iron; effect of microstructure
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the effect of microstructural variation on the mechanical properties and deformation behavior of ductile iron. To research and determine these effects, two grades of ductile iron, (i) GJS-500-7 and (ii) high silicon GJS-500-14, were cast in a geometry containing several plates with different section thicknesses in order to produce microstructural variation. 2. Heterogeneous deformation of multi-phase engineering materials - an in-situ neutron diffraction study
Sammanfattning : Gas turbines are complex power generation systems used in aerospace or land-based-power stations. Materials such as Ni-base superalloys are involved in the combustion zone of these machines, which continuously experiences harsh environments with loading at high temperatures. LÄS MER
3. Fibre-reinforced Concrete for Industrial Construction - a fracture mechanics approach to material testing and structural analysis
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTMore efficient and industrialised construction methods are both necessary for thecompetitiveness of in-situ concrete and essential if the construction industry is to moveforward. At present, the expenditure on labour (preparation and dismantling offormwork, reinforcing, and casting and finishing of concrete) almost equals the cost ofmaterial. LÄS MER
4. In-situ concrete frameworks in multifamily buildings : Modelling and simulation of construction methods and activities
Sammanfattning : In Sweden and elsewhere in the world the construction industry has encountered criticism due to its lower productivity gains in comparison to other industries. This is why continual improvement of processes and forms of cooperation are important, as is utilisation of technologies giving greater efficiencies. LÄS MER
5. High-performance and self-compacting concrete in house building. Field tests and theoretical studies of possibilities and difficulties
Sammanfattning : Cast in-situ concrete is the most frequently used materials technology worldwide within production of structural frames in multi-storey residential buildings. In Sweden, this technology dominates the market but is challenged by other competitive production methods. LÄS MER
