1. Studies of Catalytic Low-Temperature CO Oxidation over Cobalt Oxide and Related Transition Metal Oxides
Sammanfattning : The catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide at low temperatures is important in many applications. The use of a low temperature active catalyst may lower the emissions during the cold-start of a car, and volatile organic compounds in exhaust gases from stationary sources might be treated without the need of preheating the gas. 2. Understanding corrosion protection mechanisms of nanocomposite polymer coatings on carbon steel : A combination of in-situ AFM and electrochemical studies
Sammanfattning : Corrosion protection of carbon steel is crucial in today’s world and there is an urgent need to replace the hazardous compounds used with environmentally friendly anticorrosion coatings. In this European collaborative research project, new types of functional composite anticorrosion coatings for steel were developed with properties beyond the state-of-the-art using nanotechnology. 3. Transient In Situ Studies on Supported Catalysts: CO2 Methanation and Methane Oxidation
Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims to increase the understanding of important steps in the catalytic CO2 hydrogenation and total methane oxidation reactions over supported noble metal catalysts. A general theme is the role of the metal oxide support for the catalytic reactions. LÄS MER
4. In situ observations of tin deposition into nanoporous anodic aluminium oxide
Sammanfattning : AbstractIn this thesis, the electrochemical deposition process of Sn into ordered nanoporous anodic aluminium oxide (NP-AAO) have been studied. The deposition process was studied in situ using the X-ray techniques: X-ray diffraction (XRD), Grazing incidence Transmission Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (GTSAXS), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES) and ex situ using Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy measurements. 5. Model catalysts studied by x-rays, visible and infrared light
Sammanfattning : This work is focused on the study of transition metal model catalysts for gas-phase heterogeneous catalysis, studied with light-based in-situ and operando techniques.Metallic model catalysts, such as Palladium (Pd) and Iridium (Ir) single crystals and in minor part deposited Rhodium (Rh), were studied using a combination of x-ray and non x-ray techniques.
