11. In situ structural studies and gas phase visualization of model catalysts at work
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports on in situ structural studies relevant to a catalytic surface during CO oxidation. The materials that have been studied are palladium, rhodium and an alloy of palladium and silver, with applications in emission cleaning by catalytic converters in vehicles. LÄS MER
12. Perifer intravenös infart i klinisk rutin : Utveckling av omvårdnadsrutiner för att minska risken för komplikationer
Sammanfattning : The general aim was to study the way nurses plan, take care of and document a peripheral intravenous cannula (PIV) line related to complications, and to give a basis for quality assurance in surgery and internal medicine wards. The methods used were examination of patients' records, interview of patients and nurses, and observation of the cannula and its insertion area. LÄS MER
13. Drugs and polymers in dissolving solid dispersions : NMR imaging and spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : The number of poorly water-soluble drug substances in the pharmaceutical pipeline is increasing, and thereby also the need to design effective drug delivery systems providing high bioavailability. One favourable formulation approach is preparation of solid dispersions, where dispersing a poorly water-soluble drug in a water-soluble polymer matrix improves the dissolution behaviour and the bioavailability of the drug. 14. Reactive Sintering of Cu-Al, Ni-Al and Ni-Ti Powder Mixtures
Sammanfattning : Intermetallic compounds are a distinct group of materials having attractive properties and wide applications. In the present work, the formation of intermetallic compounds from elemental components in Cu-Al, Ni-Al and Ni-Ti systems has been studied. Metallic powders were mixed in stoichiometric ratios corresponding to CuAl2, NiAl and NiTi. LÄS MER
15. On multiscale modeling of pearlitic steel
Sammanfattning : By studying pearlitic steels using a scanning electron microscope it can be observed that pearlite is a two-phase material with cementite lamellae embedded in a matrix of ferrite. The cementite is commonly described as being stiff and brittle in comparison to the ferrite which is considered to have a soft and ductile mechanical behavior. LÄS MER
