Sammanfattning : In this dissertation I examine school journeys in secondary education in Portugal between 1890 and 1960, focusing on State regulation, educational ideas and school practice. By bringing together the various parts of a broader discourse on a way of thinking and making schooling, I look at how this active method was regulated, argued and reportedly undertaken with a twofold aim: to expand the knowledge on the history of school journeys, and to contribute to the research on the ideas and practices of educational modernity. 3. Primary Production in African Drylands : Quantifying Supply and Demand Using Earth Observation and Socio-ecological Data
Sammanfattning : The human-environment connection in the mostly rural drylands of sub-Saharan Africa forms a complex, interlinked system that provides ecosystem services. This system is susceptible to climatic variability that impacts the supply of its products, and high population growth, which impacts the demand for these products. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : The general aim was to study the way nurses plan, take care of and document a peripheral intravenous cannulae (PIV) related to complications, and to give a basis for quality assurance (QA). The methods used were document analysis, interview, observation and intervention regarding cannula time in situ. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : The SEA coupling and dissipation loss factors are determined in-situ from Complex Modulation Transfer Functions, CMTF:s, based on measured impulse-responses. A quotient of CMTF:s is least-square curve-fitted to a SEA model and the SEA loss factors are determined from the results of the curve-fit. LÄS MER
