  1. 21. Fracture mechanical modelling of embossed paper

    Författare :Rickard Hägglund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two scientific papers on strength and fracture of embossed tissue paper. In Paper A an experimental study of embossed tissue paper is presented. The mechanical properties of most soft tissue paper are to a large extent governed by the creping and subsequent embossing process. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Molecular characterization of type I endometrial carcinomas

    Författare :Kristina Levan; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :endometrial cancer; gene expression; Rb1; E2F-1;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial carcinoma is the most common malignancy in the female reproductive tract. In Sweden over 1300 women are diagnosed every year, and although the prognosis is favourable in the majority of cases, about 160 patients die of the disease every year. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Resilience and Religion in a Forced Migration Context : A narrative study of religiousness as a resilience factor in dealing with refugee experiences from a post-migration perspective of Bosnian refugees in Sweden

    Författare :Selma Porobic; Centrum för teologi och religionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; psychology of religion; positive psychology; religious meaning-making; religiousness; resilience; conflict-induced displacement; refugee experiences; forced migration; narrative; refugee-centred research; post-migration perspective; Bosnian war refugees in Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : Until recently studies regarding the pathological aspects of refugee experiences have led the psychology field of forced migration, giving little space to positive factors like the resilience and well-being of individuals faced with these adversities. This doctoral thesis emphasizes good health rather than disease and aims at deepening the understanding of resilience and health as opposed to the dysfunction and disorder paradigm in the context of stressful forced migration experiences. 4. 24. Disentangling production and climate signals from high-resolution Beryllium records: implications for solar and geomagnetic reconstructions

    Författare :Minjie Zheng; MERGE: ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solar Activity; 10Be; 7Be; ice cores; tropopause; climate; cosmogenic radionuclides; geomagnetic reconstructions; multi-linear regression;

    Sammanfattning : The sun is the most important energy source for the Earth’s climate system, however, influences of solar variations on climate are not fully understood. Studying past solar activity can improve our understanding of what role the sun plays in Earth’s climate. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Fat contamination of pericardial suction blood in cardiac surgery : clinical and experimental studies in perspectives of transfusion logistics

    Författare :Micael Appelblad; Gunnar Engström; Krister Lindmark; Anders Jeppsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Surgery; blood transfusion; cardiopulmonary bypass; pericardial suction blood; fat contamination; lipid microemboli; density separation; surface adsorption; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: During cardiac surgery aided by cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) the autotransfusion of pericardial suction blood (PSB) is regarded mandatory to limit allogeneic blood exposure. PSB is however proposed as a source of lipid microemboli and to contribute to brain damage. LÄS MER
