  1. 11. Prehistoric human impact on wild mammalian populations in Scandinavia

    Författare :Hans Ahlgren; Kerstin Lidén; Anders Angerbjörn; Anders Götherström; Gørill Nilsen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; hunter-gatherers; Baltic Sea; Mesolithic period; grey seal; harp seal; mountain hare; moose; ancient DNA; hunting; translocation; arkeologi med inriktning mot laborativ arkeologi; Scientific Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to study the interactions of pre-agricultural societies in Scandinavia with wild mammals, for example in terms of hunting and translocation. More specifically, the aim is to investigate the possibility of identifying examples of overexploitation, targeted hunting or translocation of wild mammals in prehistoric Scandinavia, and to discuss the implications this could have had for both the wild animals and the humans. 2. 12. Protein Yield and Protein Isolate Quality when applying pH-shift Processing on Cod, Haddock and Blue Whiting Fillets- Effects of Replacing Centrifugation with Filtration

    Författare :Helgi Nolsøe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; fish; cod; protein yield; pH-shift processing; haddock; centrifugation; surimi; Protein isolate; filtration; blue whiting;

    Sammanfattning : A more sustainable fishery and a better utilization of the harvested fish raw material are currently of great importance to prevent overexploitation of our marine resources. Production of protein isolates to use for example as surimi has for many years been an important way of better utilizing low-value fish species and fish rest raw materials. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Environmental Impacts of Shared Mobility: Potential, Factors, and Assessments

    Författare :Ana Maria Arbelaez Velez; Internationella miljöinstitutet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shared mobility; Environmental impact; sustainable transportation; input and output analysis; Life Cycle Assessment LCA; demand-side solutions;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental impacts from passenger transportation continue to increase globally due to a rise in kilometers traveled and a shift to emission-intensive transportation modes (from public transportation and active modes such as walking and cycling to motorcycle and car ridership). The electrification of the passenger fleet, coupled with low-carbon energy sources, is expected to decrease some of the environmental impacts associated with passenger transportation, including local air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and fuel depletion. 4. 14. Både finsk och svensk : modernisering, nationalism och språkförändring i Tornedalen 1850-1939

    Författare :Lars Elenius; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Modernisation; nationalism; ethnicity; assimilation policy; national identity; marriage pattern; language shift; Torne Valley; elementary school;

    Sammanfattning : This study deals with the impact by modernisation and nationalism on the ethnicity and national identity among the Finnish speaking minority in the Torne Valley in the north of Sweden. The starting point is 1809 when Sweden lost the Finnish part of the kingdom to Russia. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Food ingredients from cultivated seaweeds-Improving storage stability and protein recovery

    Författare :Hanna Harrysson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; unsaturated fatty acids; macroalgae; alterative cultivation; sequential recovery; pH-shift; ascorbic acid; long-term storage; Seaweed; protein extraction; proteins; lipid oxidation;

    Sammanfattning : There is a global demand for new vegetarian protein sources, and seaweed have for multiple reasons been identified as a promising candidate. The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate the potential of three different Swedish seaweed species as food protein sources, but also as sources of unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.
