  1. 16. Environmental System Analysis of Waste Management : Experiences from Applications of the ORWARE Model

    Författare :Anna Björklund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; municipal solid waste MSW ; waste management; waste management planning; model; environmental systems analysis; life cycle assessment LCA ; substance flow analysis SFA ; substance flows; environmental impact; energy; uncertainty; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Waste management has gone through a history of shiftingproblems, demands, and strategies over the years. In contrastto the long prevailing view that the problem could be solved byhiding or moving it, waste is now viewed as a problem rangingfrom local to global concern, and as being an integral part ofseveral sectors in society. 2. 17. Structural-acoustic vibrations in wooden assemblies : Experimental modal analysis and finite element modelling

    Författare :Åsa Bolmsvik; Torbjörn Ekevik; Andreas Linderholt; Anders Brandt; Anders Ågren; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wooden framed structure; light weight buildings; multi-storey; flanking transmission; junction; vibration distribution; impact noise; damping; elastomers; finite element analysis; experimental modal analysis; FRF; trästomme; träkonstruktion; träbyggnad; flervåningshus; EMA; FEM; flanktransmission; koppling; knutpunkt; vibrationsspridning; stomljud; stegljud; dämpning; elastomerer; finit elementmetod; experimentell modalanalys; accelerationsmätning; frekvensresponsfunktion; modalanalys;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis concerns flanking transmission in light weight, wooden multi-storey buildings within the low frequency, primarily 20-120 Hz. The overall aim is to investigate how the finite element method can contribute in the design phase to evaluate different junctions regarding flanking transmission. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Rethinking Social Impact Assessment through Urban Design: Towards designerly evaluation with a socio-form approach

    Författare :Joanna Gregorowicz-Kipszak; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SIA; analysis; transversality; SOCIO-FORM approach; research through design; built form; the social; urban design; space of possibilities; assessment; social impact; knowledge hub;

    Sammanfattning : Tools for assessing the social impact of urban designs are being developed internationally and in Swedish municipalities. While methodological development is underway, a theoretical discussion about the implications of urban design on social impact assessment (SIA) and its critical potential is rare, leading to the situation whereby much SIA is instrumental and might act against reinforcing and improved integration of the social dimension into the practice of urban planning and design. 4. 19. Towards a Scenario-based Spatial Dynamic Modeling for Predicting Urban Land Use Change : Planning Tools and Comparative Analysis

    Författare :Zipan Cai; Vladimir Cvetkovic; Fredrik Gröndahl; Brian Deal; Stan Geertman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; urbanization; planning support system; spatial dynamic model; urban land use change; spatial analysis; human-land interaction; socioeconomics; ecological systems; urban amenities; environmental impact assessment; what-if; decision-making; urbanisering; planeringsstödsystem; rumslig dynamisk modell; förändring av stadsmarkanvändning; rumslig analys; mänsklig-land interaktion; socioekonomi; ekologiska system; urbana bekvämligheter; miljökonsekvensbeskrivning; vad-om; beslutsfattande; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : As global urbanization progresses, cities worldwide are growing in size, which leads to many economic, environmental, and management challenges. Recent advancements in spatial data analysis and algorithmic geography have also led to the development of various urban model-based planning support systems (PSS) for urban planning. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Decision Analysis in Situations with Conflicting Interests

    Författare :Tobias Fasth; Aron Larsson; Love Ekenberg; Lisa Brouwers; Valentina Ferretti; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis; Portfolio Decision Analysis; Conflict Analysis; Decision Tools; Land Use Planning; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Decision problems in participatory decision making involve multiple stakeholders, who often have conflicting preferences concerning the actions under consideration. Decision problems such as these can be structured as multi-criteria problems, which enables the actions to be evaluated in terms of more than one single criterion. LÄS MER
