  1. 16. Antibody-based Profiling of Expression Patterns using Cell and Tissue Microarrays

    Författare :Sara Strömberg; Fredrik Ponten; Joakim Lundeberg; Anna Asplund; Stephen Hewitt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pathology; antibody-based proteomics; tissue microarray; cell line; immunohistochemistry; melanocytes; image analysis; biomarker; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methods to study gene and protein expression in cells and tissues were developed and utilized in combination with protein-specific antibodies, with the overall objective to attain greater understanding of protein function.To analyze protein expression in in vitro cultured cell lines, a cell microarray (CMA) was developed, facilitating antibody-based protein profiling of cell lines using immunohistochemistry (IHC). 2. 17. Immunologic Markers in the Tumor Microenvironment of Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma

    Författare :Alex R. Gholiha; Gunilla Enblad; Rose-Marie Amini; Peter Hollander; Gustaf Hedström; Arjan Diepstra; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tumor microenvironment; immunohistochemistry; immune checkpoints; Plasma cells; IL-6 cytokine; Proteomics; CD47.;

    Sammanfattning : In classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), cytokine regulation and cellular composition of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is crucial for tumor cell survival. In paper I, we examined the presence of CD138+ plasma cells and IgG4+ plasma cells in diagnostic cHL biopsies with immunohistochemistry (IHC). LÄS MER

  3. 18. Prognostic and Predictive Factors in Bladder Cancer

    Författare :Tammer Hemdan; Per-Uno Malmström; Ulrika Segersten; Peter Boström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bladder cancer; BCG; cisplatin; STMN1; emmprin; survivin; CCTα; biomarker; immunohistochemistry; IHC; tissue microarray; TMA;

    Sammanfattning : Bladder cancer is a potentially curable malignancy; however in regards to the state of current therapy regimens, a plateau has been reached in both the non-muscle and muscle invasive types. To obtain effective treatment, and consequently a decreased mortality, it has become imperative to test and understand aspects affecting therapy response. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Epidemiology and prognosis in classical Hodgkin lymphoma

    Författare :Peter Hollander; Ingrid Glimelius; Rose-Marie Amini; Gunilla Enblad; Lydia Visser; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; rheumatoid arthritis; tumor microenvironment; immunohistochemistry; immune checkpoints; regulatory T lymphocytes; PD-1; PD-L1; Oncology; Onkologi; Patologi; Pathology;

    Sammanfattning : Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is a B cell derived neoplasm with an overall good prognosis. Its etiology and pathogenesis are largely unknown. The tumor microenvironment consists of sparse malignant cells and abundant leukocytes. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Chlamydia pneumoniae in Children - Epidemiology and Clinical Implications

    Författare :Erik Normann; Björn Wettergren; Håkan Gnarpe; Claes Sundelin; Birger Trollfors; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatrics; allergy; asthma; children; Chlamydia pneumoniae; immunohistochemistry; microimmunofluorescence; polymerase chain reaction; respiratory tract infection; Pediatrik; Paediatric medicine; Pediatrisk medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Chlamydia pneumoniae is a human respiratory tract pathogen. Seroepidemiological studies indicate that C. pneumoniae infection is most common in school-aged children and infrequently detected in younger children.The aims of this study were to further elucidate the prevalence of C.
