  1. 1. Immunoglobulin A nephropathy and disease complications : register-based studies

    Författare :Simon Jarrick; Jonas Ludvigsson; Sigrid Lundberg; Adina Symreng; Colin C. Geddes; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; immunoglobulin A nephropathy; nephrology; validation studies; register studies; cohort studies; mortality; ischemic heart disease; pregnancy; preterm birth;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) is the commonest primary glomerular disease worldwide. A kidney biopsy is required for the diagnosis. IgA immune-complex depositions sets off a cascade leading to renal scarring, proteinuria and hypertension. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Studies of the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy and Henoch-Schönlein purpura, with special reference to Streptococcus pyogenes infections and complement

    Författare :Roland Schmitt; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgA nephropathy; Henoch-Schönlein purpura; Streptococcus pyogenes; M protein; complement;

    Sammanfattning : IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common form of primary glomerulonephritis and Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) the most common form of vasculitis in childhood. HSP may affect kidneys, a complication termed Henoch-Schönlein nephropathy (HSN). Renal pathology in HSN resembles that seen in IgAN. The pathogenesis of IgAN and HSP is so far unclear. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Immunoglobulin isotype switching in health and disease

    Författare :Berivan Baskin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin isotype switching is the process where the Cmy region, initially located downstream of the VDJ region is replaced by another constant region gene. Class switch recombination takes place between switch (S) regions, composed of tandem repeats of short unit sequences, located 5 of each CH gene, except for Cdelta. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Renal function and renal histopathology in assessment of course and prognosis in Henoch Schönlein nephritis and IgA nephropathy

    Författare :Stella Edström Halling; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Henoch Schönlein Nephritis (HSN) is a common childhood vasculitis that generally has a self-limiting course but the long-term outcome varies with the clinical picture at onset. Morbidity is high among the most severe cases, and therefore there is a need for intervention. LÄS MER
