1. Lipase-Catalysed Lipid Modifications in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide
Sammanfattning : The production of ethyl esters (EE) from ethanol and cod-liver oil by an immobilised lipase in supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) is described. This reaction results in a complex mixture of lipid components consisting of triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides and ethyl esters. LÄS MER
2. Molecular development of a thermostable β-glucosidase for modification of natural products
Sammanfattning : The gene encoding a β-glucosidase originating from the extreme thermophile Thermotoga neopolitana has been cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The aim was to produce a thermostable enzyme that could be used to remove sugar residues from glucosylated natural products classified as flavonoids by applying a method combining extraction in hot pressurized water with enzymatic hydrolysis. 3. Lipases as Biocatalysts in Organic Media. Influence of Enzyme Preparation and Reaction Conditions on Activity and Selectivity
Sammanfattning : The discovery that enzymes can function in organic solvents has broadened the scope of biocatalysis, making enzymes highly useful tools for organic chemists. The widespread use of enzymes as catalysts in organic solvents has, however, been limited by the low activity obtained for enzymes in organic solvents compared to aqueous solutions. LÄS MER
4. Immobilizing catalysts on textiles : case of zerovalent iron and glucose oxidase enzyme
Sammanfattning : Catalytic systems are one of the most effective technologies of modern chemical processes. The system uses a molecule called ‘catalyst’ that is capable of catalyzing a reaction without being produced or consumed during the process. LÄS MER
5. Graphene : a vision to the future of smart E-Textile application
Sammanfattning : Smart textile is a term referring to the textiles that could interact with their environment, receiving input and giving output based on their applications. Among smart textiles, electrically driven smart textiles (E-textiles) are being produced by various methods and materials integrated with textile substances. LÄS MER
