  1. 1. Understanding Multicore Performance : Efficient Memory System Modeling and Simulation

    Författare :Andreas Sandberg; Erik Hagersten; David Black-Schaffer; David A. Wood; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Architecture; Simulation; Modeling; Sampling; Caches; Memory Systems; gem5; Parallel Simulation; Virtualization; Sampling; Multicore; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Sammanfattning : To increase performance, modern processors employ complex techniques such as out-of-order pipelines and deep cache hierarchies. While the increasing complexity has paid off in performance, it has become harder to accurately predict the effects of hardware/software optimizations in such systems. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Haptics with Applications to Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Planning

    Författare :Pontus Olsson; Ingrid B. Carlbom; Blake Hannaford; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; medical image processing; haptics; haptic rendering; haptic gripper; visuo-haptic co-location; vibrotactile feedback; surgery simulation; virtual surgery planning; cranio-maxillofacial surgery; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Virtual surgery planning systems have demonstrated great potential to help surgeons achieve a better functional and aesthetic outcome for the patient, and at the same time reduce time in the operating room resulting in considerable cost savings. However, the two-dimensional tools employed in these systems today, such as a mouse and a conventional graphical display, are difficult to use for interaction with three-dimensional anatomical images. 3. 3. Simulering som lärande inom prehospital akutsjukvård

    Författare :Anna Abelsson; Lillemor Lindwall; Björn-Ove Suserud; Ingrid Rystedt; Johan Berlin; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; simulation; learning; nurse; high-energy trauma; ambulance; simulering; lärande; sjuksköterska; högenergitrauma; ambulans; Nursing Science; Omvårdnad;

    Sammanfattning : Den prehospitala akutsjukvården är ett komplext kunskapsfält som innebär att vårdaren skall kunna bemöta patient och närstående, bedöma skada, sjukdom och den aktuella situationen samt avgöra vilka vårdåtgärder som skall prioriteras.Patientens lidande kan lindras genom att vårdaren tränar färdigheter i ett prehospitalt kontext. 4. 4. Segmentation Methods for Medical Image Analysis : Blood vessels, multi-scale filtering and level set methods

    Författare :Gunnar Läthén; Reiner Lenz; Niels Christian Overgaard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image segmentation; Medical image analysis; Level set method; Quadrature filter; Multi-scale; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Image segmentation is the problem of partitioning an image into meaningful parts, often consisting of an object and background. As an important part of many imaging applications, e.g. face recognition, tracking of moving cars and people etc, it is of general interest to design robust and fast segmentation algorithms. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Simulation used as a learning approach in nursing education : Students’ experiences and validation of evaluation questionnaires

    Författare :Randi Tosterud; Marie-Louise Hall-Lord; Kerstin Petzäll; Birgitta Hedelin; Anna Löfmark; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; debriefing; evaluation questionnaires; fidelity; nursing students; experiences; psychometric testing; simulation; Nursing Science; Omvårdnad;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to investigate bachelor nursing students’ experiences with simulation as a learning approach conducted under various conditions. Additionally, the aim was to translate and validate questionnaires for the evaluation of simulation in a Norwegian context.Methods: Quantitative and qualitative methods were used. LÄS MER
