  1. 1. Event stratigraphy for the Last Glacial-Holocene transition in eastern middle Sweden

    Författare :Jonas Björck; Michael J.C Walker; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Last Glacial-Holocene transition; event stratigraphy; eastern middle Sweden; pollen; plant macrofossils; marine calcareous fossils; microtephra; radiocarbon dating; clay varve chronology; GRIP; ice-core chronology; calendar year chronology; Preboreal oscillation; Yoldia Sea; Baltic Ice Lake; Quaternary Geology; kvartärgeologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis outlines an event stratigraphy for the Last Glacial-Holocene transition in eastern middle Sweden. Events are short-lived occurrences that have left traces in the geological record and which, therefore, may be used for correlation and inter-regional comparisons. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Pollen analysis, chronology and palaeomagnetism of three Late Weichselian sites in southern Sweden

    Författare :Jonas Ising; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; southern Sweden; calendar year chronology; Late Weichselian; Pollen stratigraphy; palaeomagnetic secular variations; Geology; physical geography; Geologi; fysisk geografi;

    Sammanfattning : Three sites, Torreberga in Skåne, Farslycke in Blekinge and Lake Bolmen in Småland, with Late Weichselian lake sediments were studied with respect to pollen analysis and palaeomagnetism. The chronologies are based on pollen stratigraphical correlations, radiocarbon dating and, for two of the sites, on a clay-varve chronology. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Climatic signals and frequencies in the Swedish Time Scale, River Ångermanälven, Central Sweden

    Författare :Mikkel Sander; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; pedology; cartography; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; geomorphology; Physical geography; winter precipitation; climate change; central Sweden; last 2000 year; discharge; varve;

    Sammanfattning : Any future climate variation forced by human activities will be superimposed on the background of natural climate variation. Therefore, before interpreting the present climate and addressing future climate scenarios some knowledge of past climate is necessary. LÄS MER
