    Sammanfattning : During trauma, surgery and critically illness, splanchnic ischemia and reperfusion damage maythreaten the barrier function of the intestinal mucosa, leading to bacterial translocation, immuneactivation and subsequent development of systemic inflammatory response syndrome.
