21. Molecular dynamics and aggregation behaviour in aqueous polymer-drug model systems
Sammanfattning : Pharmaceutical formulations often contain polymers used as binders, swelling agents, etc., to give the formulation mechanical stability or specific drug release features. Many drug substances, as well as polymers, are amphiphilic which will give an associative polymer-drug interaction, affecting the dissolution rate and drug release. LÄS MER
22. In situ gelling drug delivery systems for periodontal anaesthesia
Sammanfattning : In this thesis local anaesthetic formulations based on PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymers (PEO and PPO being poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide), respectively) or nonionic cellulose ethers undergoing temperature- or dilution-induced thickening were investigated. The aim of the work was to develop formulations which can be easily administered to the periodontal pocket, stay at the application site, give a fast onset of anaesthesia and have a duration sufficient to perform periodontal scaling procedures. 23. Polymer Gels and their Interactions with Ionic Surfactants
Sammanfattning : The response on chemically crosslinked gels and polymer solutions on the addition of ionic surfactants and/or addition of salt at different temperatures have been studied. All polymers studied are water soluble and slightly hydrophobic or hydrophobically modified. LÄS MER
24. Cross-linking and surface properties of EHEC and Starch -a QCM-D study
Sammanfattning : The increase of the green house gases and the crude oil price has resulted in a willingness to change the raw material in many industries from petroleum-based polymers to natural polymers. One such natural polymer is starch. Today, starch is used in the glue industry in wallpaper pastes. LÄS MER
25. Phase Equilibria and Structures of Oppositely Charged Polymers and Surfactants in Water
Sammanfattning : A new approach to the study of aqueous mixtures of oppositely charged polymers and surfactants has been introduced. Pure polyion-surfactant ion complex salts have been synthesized and used as the point of departure. The elimination of the simple ions reduces the number of components in the mixtures, thus greatly simplifying the system. LÄS MER
