  1. 16. Phase transformation and stability studies of the Zr-H system

    Författare :Tuerdi Maimaitiyili; Lars Hallstadius; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Zirconium hydride; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; Nuclear materials; phase transformation; in-situ hydrogen charging; hydrogen related degradation; neutron diffraction; powder diffraction; Rietveld analysis; γ-ZrH; hydrogen embrittlement; zirconium hydride; γ-ZrH; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; hydrogen charging; in situ phase transformation; hydrogen embrittlement; hydrogen induced degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section. Zirconium has a strong affinity for hydrogen, however, and if hydrogen concentration builds up, the material will gradually degrade. LÄS MER

  2. 17. In-situ phase studies of the Zr-H system

    Författare :Tuerdi Maimaitiyili; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Zirconium hydride; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; phase transformation; in-situ hydrogen charging; hydrogen related degradation; in situ phase transformation; hydrogen embrittlement; hydrogen charging; zirconium hydride; γ-ZrH; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; hydrogen induced degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section. However, zirconium has strong affinity for hydrogen, which may lead to hydrogen concentration build-up over time during a corrosion reaction when exposed to water. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts

    Författare :Andrew J. Bagnall; Leif Hammarström; Vincent Artero; Sascha Ott; Alexander Cowan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrochemical mechanism; hydrogen; artificial photosynthesis; molecular catalyst; hydrogen evolution; cobalt; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials. 4. 19. Hydrogen in nominally anhydrous silicate minerals : Quantification methods, incorporation mechanisms and geological applications

    Författare :Franz A. Weis; Henrik Skogby; Peter Lazor; Jannick Ingrin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NAMs; clinopyroxene; hydrogen; hydrothermal pressure; magmatic water content; zoisite; OH-dipole; Raman spectroscopy; FTIR; luminescence; proton-proton scattering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to increase our knowledge and understanding of trace water concentrations in nominally anhydrous minerals (NAMs). Special focus is put on the de- and rehydration mechanisms of clinopyroxene crystals in volcanic systems, how these minerals can be used to investigate the volatile content of mantle rocks and melts on both Earth and other planetary bodies (e. 5. 20. Nanoplasmonic Alloy Hydrogen Sensors

    Författare :Ferry Nugroho; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; indirect nanoplasmonic sensing; plasmonic sensors; hydrogen sensors; polymers; fiber optics; nanofabrication; localized surface plasmon resonance; alloy nanoparticles; carbon capture and storage; sensors; palladium;

    Sammanfattning : The hydrogen economy proposes hydrogen gas as the main energy carrier thanks to its high energy density and the possibility to produce it in a sustainable way without CO2 emission. However, the wide flammability range of hydrogen-air mixtures dictates that hydrogen sensors will be a mandatory accessory to any appliance or vehicle fueled by hydrogen. LÄS MER
