11. Modified oxygen and hydrogen transport in Zr-based oxides
Sammanfattning : Most metals and alloys in the presence of oxygen and moisture will instantaneously react and form a thin (2-5 nm) surface oxide layer. For further reaction to occur, oxygen ions and/or metal cations often diffuse through the already formed oxide layer. LÄS MER
12. Ligniners reaktioner med alkalisk väteperoxid
Sammanfattning : Under alkaline conditions hydrogen peroxide can be used either as a 1ignin-degrading or a 1ignin-preserving bleaching agent. If heavy metal ions are present and/or silicate is absent in the reaction medium, hydrogen peroxide decomposes via hydroxyl radicals and superoxide ions to oxygen and water. LÄS MER
13. Small-Scale Production of Fuel-Cell Hydrogen
Sammanfattning : The work presented here aims at producing hydrogen for proton-exchange fuel-cell applications from hydrocarbons. This thesis describes an integrated catalytic converter comprising a steam-reforming reactor (heat of reaction supplied by catalytic combustion), a water-gas shift reactor and a preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide reactor, and the work performed on the fuel processing catalysts therein. 14. Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer from Hydrogen-Bonded Phenols
Sammanfattning : Proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) is one of the elementary reactions occurring in many chemical and biological systems, such as photosystem II where the oxidation of tyrosine (TyrZ) is coupled to deprotonation of the phenolic proton. This reaction is here modelled by the oxidation of a phenol covalently linked to a Ru(bpy)32+-moitey, which is photo-oxidized by a laser flash-quench method. LÄS MER
15. Electrocatalyst materials for low-temperature hydrogen fuel cells
Sammanfattning : Fuel cells have emerged as an alternative to satisfy the need of energy systems with net-zero emissions. Although fuel cells date back to the 1800s, it is only during the last decades that research and development has enabled true commercialization. LÄS MER
