  1. 1. Phase transformation and stability studies of the Zr-H system

    Författare :Tuerdi Maimaitiyili; Lars Hallstadius; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Zirconium hydride; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; Nuclear materials; phase transformation; in-situ hydrogen charging; hydrogen related degradation; neutron diffraction; powder diffraction; Rietveld analysis; γ-ZrH; hydrogen embrittlement; zirconium hydride; γ-ZrH; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; hydrogen charging; in situ phase transformation; hydrogen embrittlement; hydrogen induced degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section. Zirconium has a strong affinity for hydrogen, however, and if hydrogen concentration builds up, the material will gradually degrade. LÄS MER

  2. 2. In-situ phase studies of the Zr-H system

    Författare :Tuerdi Maimaitiyili; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Zirconium hydride; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; phase transformation; in-situ hydrogen charging; hydrogen related degradation; in situ phase transformation; hydrogen embrittlement; hydrogen charging; zirconium hydride; γ-ZrH; synchrotron X-ray diffraction; neutron diffraction; hydrogen induced degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section. However, zirconium has strong affinity for hydrogen, which may lead to hydrogen concentration build-up over time during a corrosion reaction when exposed to water. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Infrastructural requirements for indirect and direct electrification of road transportation

    Författare :Therese Lundblad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydrogen supply; home charging; low-voltage grid; electric vehicles; hydrogen infrastructure; charging strategies; hosting capacity;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis analyzes the integration of electricity and transportation systems for a future in which transportation is increasingly electrified. The focus is on exploring the infrastructures required for the indirect electrification of heavy transportation and the direct electrification of passenger vehicles. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Inconel 718 and Hydrogen

    Författare :Niklas Ehrlin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; IN718 Hydrogen Embrittlement Cathodic Charging;

    Sammanfattning : The nickel based superalloy IN718 is known to be sensitive to hydrogen, causing degradation of its mechanical properties. The degrading mechanism commonly proposed is based on an increased mobility and density of dislocations, caused by the dissolved hydrogen. This results in a decreased yield stress and a premature fracture. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Effect of water contamination on the diffused content of hydrogen under stress in AISI-52100 bearing steel

    Författare :Tajammal Imran; Maskinelement; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; materialteknik; Materiallära; Material technology; Hydrogen Diffusion; Rolling Element; Machine Elements; Tribology; Hydrogen Embrittlement; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Hydrogen embrittlement is a degradation process of mechanical/tribological properties (toughness, wear etc.) of mating steel surfaces. This is caused by the presence and interaction of hydrogen with applied stresses. Therefore, it is important to quantify the hydrogen content which could be dissolved under applied stresses in steel.
