  1. 1. Radio emission from supernovae

    Författare :Esha Kundu; Peter Lundqvist; Claes Fransson; Stephen Reynolds; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supernovae; radio emission; hydrodynamical simulation; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the modeling of radio and X-ray emissions from supernova (SN) shock fronts and hydrodynamical simulations of SN-circumstellar medium (CSM) interaction. The interaction of SN ejecta with the CSM drives a strong shock wave into the CSM. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Measuring the solar atmosphere

    Författare :Jaime de la Cruz Rodríguez; Göran Scharmer; Dan Kiselman; Mats Carlsson; Gianna Cauzzi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sun; Chromosphere; Spectropolarimetry; Solar observations; Spectral lines; Solar magnetic fields; Astronomy; Astronomi; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : The new CRISP filter at the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope provides opportunities for observing the solar atmosphere with unprecedented spatial resolution and cadence. In order to benefit from the high quality of observational data from this instrument, we have developed methods for calibrating and restoring polarized Stokes images, obtained at optical and near infrared wavelengths, taking into account field-of-view variations of the filter properties. 3. 3. Magnetohydrodynamics of Turbulent Accretion Disks and Planet Formation

    Författare :Wladimir Lyra; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Planets have long been believed to form in disks of gas and dust around youngstars, interacting with their surroundings via a setof complex and highly nonlinear processes. In the core accretion scenario forgiant planet formation dust coagulates first into km-sized icyand rocky planetesimals that further collide, formingprogressively larger solid bodies that eventually give rise to cores of severalEarth masses.
