11. Assessment of rock mass quality and its effects on charge ability using drill monitoring technique
Sammanfattning : For an efficient mining operation, it is essential to have as much information as possible aboutthe ore to be excavated and the rock masses surrounding the ore. Geological information andthe content and distribution of extractable minerals, are central concerns for long term mineplanning. LÄS MER
12. Numerical and experimental study of performance of a hydraulic motor
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to develop an understanding of the fluid properties that influence the efficiency of hydraulic systems in a steady-state, especially components in hydrostatic transmission systems under different running conditions. The aim has also been to investigate and model the sources of losses in hydraulic machines, in order to estimate the losses, taking fluid properties into account. LÄS MER
13. Impacts of climate oscillation on precipitation and river flows of small scale river basins in Eastern Northeast Brazil
Sammanfattning : The Northeast region of Brazil is one of the most susceptible parts of the country to the effects of climate variability leading to severe droughts or extreme floods. Indeed, drought is a major issue due to a large semiarid area that covers 53% of the region, which determines the main climate characteristics of this region. LÄS MER
14. Adsorption and transformation of organic micropollutants in wastewater : New insights from 14C-labeling
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the removal of organic micropollutants and transformation products using ozone and activated carbon treatment processes. A combination of 14C-labeled and non-radiolabeled organic micropollutants was used to study aspects of micropollutant removal from novel perspectives. LÄS MER
15. Swash Processes and Dune Erosion: Emphasis on Vessel-Generated Waves
Sammanfattning : In navigable waterways, owing to the relatively short fetches for wind wave generation, the free waves generated by moving vessels often produce the dominant wave action with respect to erosion of the shore. In response to the fairly recent introduction of high-speed ferries, combined with a planned expansion within the passenger- and car-carrying ship market, the need to model and predict coastline changes as a result of exposure to vessel-generated waves has become a topic of increased research.
