  1. 6. Fabrication of nanocellulose-based materials : Liquid crystalline phase formation and design of inorganic–nanocellulose hybrids

    Författare :Christina Schütz; Lennart Bergström; Germán Salazar-Alvarez; Mark MacLachlan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing need to replace fossil fuels as a source of energy and raw material is resulting in extensive research efforts towards identifying and developing high performance materials and devices based on renewable sources. Cellulose being the most versatile and abundant biopolymer in nature is one of the obvious choices. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Baluns, Hybrids and Power Dividers for Ultra- Wideband Antennas

    Författare :Syed Hasan Raza Zaidi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiport feeding network; baluns; packaging; power divider; Ultra-wideband; Eleven feed; gap waveguide; ring hybrid.;

    Sammanfattning : UWB (ultra wideband), depending on the application requirement, is usually referred to 2:1 bandwidth for radio/wireless applications. Here in this thesis it is also used to denote extremely wideband antenna and components at several octave bandwidth, particularly for high frequency applications, such as the 1 – 10 GHz antenna system needed for the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) radio telescope and the 2 – 14 GHz antenna system for the VLBI2010 (Very Long Base line Interferometer) project. 3. 8. Novel Porous Films from Functional and Biocompatible Linear-Dendritic Hybrids

    Författare :Marie V. Walter; Michael Malkoch; Steve P. Rannard; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; poly ethylene glycol ; poly caprolactone ; linear-dendritic hybrid; click chemistry; CuAAC; thiol-ene chemistry; amphiphilic polymer; honeycomb film; isoporous film; thiol; dendrimer;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades, the fabrication of ordered nano- and microporous structures has attracted increasing interest due to their specific properties and multiple possible applications in electronics, as templates or in the biological field. The development of such materials has been favored by the introduction of the simple breath-figure templating method in the 1990’s. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues in today’s world. Addressing this problem calls for the development of environmentally friendly alternatives that would reduce the amount of persistent plastic waste. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Evaluation and release of East African highland cooking banana ‘Matooke’ hybrids

    Författare :Noel Madalla; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The production of East African highland bananas Eastern Africa is under threat by pests and pathogens. Improved banana cultivars with high and stable yield, suitable end use quality, host plant resistance to major pests and pathogens, and adaptation to target population of environments can help boost productivity when combined with sound crop husbandry practices.
