21. Distributed Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicles
Sammanfattning : An increasing need for goods and passenger transportation drives continued worldwide growth in traffic. As traffic increases environmental concerns, traffic safety, and cost efficiency become ever more important. Advancements in microelectronics open the possibility to address these issues through new advanced driver assistance systems. LÄS MER
22. Communication-Aware Motion Planning for Mobile Robots
Sammanfattning : Mobile robots have found numerous applications in recent years, in areas such as consumer robotics, environmental monitoring, security and transportation. For information dissemination, multi-robot cooperation or operator intervention, reliable communications are important. LÄS MER
23. Electrochemical Studies of Aging in Lithium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries are today finding use in automobiles aiming at reducing fuel consumption and emissions within transportation. The requirements on batteries used in vehicles are high regarding performance and lifetime, and a better understanding of the interior processes that dictate energy and power capabilities is a key to strategic development. 24. On direct hydrogen fuel cell vehicles : modelling and demonstration
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, direct hydrogen Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell systems in vehicles are investigated through modelling, field tests and public acceptance surveys. A computer model of a 50 kW PEM fuel cell system was developed. The fuel cell system efficiency is approximately 50% between 10 and 45% of the rated power. LÄS MER
25. Iterative Road Grade Estimation for Heavy Duty Vehicle Control
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a new method for iterative road grade estimation based on sensors that are commonplace in modern heavy duty vehicles. Estimates from multiple passes of the same road segment are merged together to form a road grade map, that is improved each time the vehicle revisits an already traveled route. LÄS MER
