  1. 1. The Four-Quadrant Transducer System : for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    Författare :Erik Nordlund; Chandur Sadarangani; Hans Kahlen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Electrical Machines; Hybrid Vehicles; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis a hybrid electrical powertrain called the Four Quadrant Transducer (4QT) has been evaluated through different driving simulations, which later resulted in the manufacture of a prototype. The simulation of a 12 metric ton distribution truck showed that the 4QT system can reduce the fuel consumption by approximately 30 % during the FTP75 drive cycle. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A hybrid finite element method for electromagnetics with applications in time-domain

    Författare :DAVID DEGERFELDT; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nitsche s method; antenna arrays; NASA almond; edge elements; scattering; explicit-implicit time-stepping; Maxwell s equations; Finite Element Method; mass lumping; stability analysis; Finite-Differences Time-Domain; periodic structures; shape and material optimization;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, a new hybrid method that combines the Finite Element Method (FEM) with the Finite-Difference in Time-Domain (FDTD) method is presented. Tetrahedrons in the unstructured FEM region are connected directly to thehexahedrons in the structured FDTD region. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Stable FEM-FDTD Hybrid Method for Maxwell's Equations

    Författare :Thomas Rylander; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :Finite Element Method; scattering; antennas; stability analysis; edge elements; Maxwell s equations; NASA almond; microwave circuits; mass lumping; proof of stability; explicit-implicit time-stepping; Finite-Differences Time-Domain;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis edge elements are applied to solve several problems in computational electromagnetics. In particular, a hybrid scheme joining the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) algorithm is developed, tested and exploited. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Acoustic source characterisation for non-linear in-duct sources

    Författare :Fredrik Albertson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :in-duct source; source characterisation; non-linear source; linearity test; hybrid method; IC-engine; muffler; coupling method;

    Sammanfattning : Different ways to model acoustic in-duct sources have beenanalysed. Measurements were conducted on two diesel truckengines. It was found that for steady state oscillations, onecould linearise in the neighbourhood of a given linearisationpoint, i.e. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cellulose Nanofibril-based Hybrid Materials : Eco-friendly design towards separation and packaging applications

    Författare :Luis Valencia; Aji Mathew; Olli Ikkala; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cellulose nanofibrils; hybrid materials; membranes; aerogels; separation; food packaging; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Nanocellulose has been lately considered as the “Holy-Grail” in the design of sustainable materials due to its bio-origin and an unprecedented combination of prominent features, including good mechanical properties, anisotropy and versatile surface chemistry. In addition, nanocellulose in the form of cellulose nanofibrils, can adopt variable structures and morphologies depending on the processing technique, such as aerogels, films and monoliths. LÄS MER
