6. Direct and endothelium-linked serotonergic control of vascular tone in human uterine and umbilical arteries
Sammanfattning : The serotonergic vascular control was investigated by in vitro pharmacology in the human uterine and umbilical arteries. The localisation of immunoreactive (IR) neuropeptide Y (NPY) and the influence of NPY on the adrenergic vascular effects in the human uterine artery were also studied. LÄS MER
7. Reactivity of human omental blood vessels. Effects of 5-hydroxytryptamine, substance P and the intravenous anaesthetic propofol
Sammanfattning : Regulation of blood flow involves several endogenous substances and mechanisms, and exogenous substances may also affect the blood flow. In the present thesis, human omental blood vessels were investigated in vitro concerning (i) characteristics of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptors; (ii) mediators of substance P (SP)-induced relaxation; (iii) direct and indirect (via effects on sympathetic neurotransmission) effects of the intravenous anaesthetic propofol. 8. Mechanical Properties of Arteries : Identification and Application
Sammanfattning : In this Licentiate of Engineering thesis, a method is proposed that identifies the mechanical properties of arteries in vivo. The mechanical properties of an artery are linked to the development of cardiovascular diseases. LÄS MER
9. Mechanical Properties of Arteries : An In Vivo Parameter Identification Method
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, a method is proposed that identifies the mechanical properties of arteries in vivo. The mechanical properties of an artery are linked to the development of cardiovascular diseases. LÄS MER
10. Spatiotemporal Profiling of Human Development Using Multiplexed Imaging
Sammanfattning : Human development is complex and intricate, where the positions of cells, expression of key markers, and cell-cell interactions contribute to the development of various organs from different germ layers and the establishment of the body axis. Therefore, understanding human development within spatial and temporal aspects is crucial. LÄS MER
