  1. 16. Regulation of human immune responses to allergens

    Författare :Anna-Carin Lundell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :recognition receptors; antigen-presenting cells; sCD14; sCD83; T cells; neonates; gut microflora; staphylococcus aureus; allergens; allergy; children;

    Sammanfattning : The incidence of allergic diseases is increasing in the industrialized countries. Epidemiological studies indicate that there is an association between exposure to high levels of endotoxin or cat allergen during infancy and reduced risk of developing allergic diseases later in childhood. 2. 17. Cytomegalovirus Infection in Immunocompetent and Renal Transplant Patients : Clinical Aspects and T-cell Specific Immunity

    Författare :Fredrik Sund; Britt-Marie Eriksson; Olle Korsgren; Halvor Rollag; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytomegalovirus; renal transplantation; cellular immunity; valacyclovir; mismatched; prophylaxis; tetramer; CD4 T cells; CD8 T cells; Infectious diseases; Infektionssjukdomar;

    Sammanfattning : Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a β-herpesvirus that, after primary infection, establishes a life-long persistence in the human host. Up to 90% of humans are infected with CMV, that is kept under control by CMV-specific CD8+ and CD4+ T cells. In patients with an impaired cellular immunity, however, CMV infections can be life-threatening. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Innate and adaptive immunity in genital HSV-2 infection: Implications for vaccine development

    Författare :Ali M Harandi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :genital herpes infection; natural antibody; CD4 T cells; CD8 T cells; IFN-g; IL-12; IL-18; CC chemokines; dendritic cells.;

    Sammanfattning : Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) is a sexually transmitted pathogen that infects the genital tract mucosa and is the most common case of genital ulcers in humans. Despite numerous studies, little is known about the mechanisms involved in immune protection and no anti-herpes vaccine has been developed to date. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Regulation of immunity in Multiple Sclerosis : CD4+ T cells and the influence of natalizumab

    Författare :Måns Edström; Jan Ernerudh; Maria Jenmalm; Charlotte Dahle; Finn Sellebjerg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease targeting the central nervous system (CNS) and the most common neurological cause of disability in young adults. In most cases, the disease course is characterised by the cycling of relapses and remissions, so called relapsing-remitting MS (RR-MS). LÄS MER

  5. 20. Human Dendritic Cells and the Regulation of Allergic Immune Responses

    Författare :Malin Lindstedt; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; Immunology; allergic rhinitis; inflammation; transcriptional profiling; T cells; Dendritic cells; microarray;

    Sammanfattning : Dendritic cells (DC) are a heterogeneous lineage of bone-marrow-derived leukocytes that serve as the link between innate and adaptive immunity. They are professional antigen-presenting cells that play an important protective and regulatory role in both health and disease. LÄS MER
