  1. 1. Chromium martensitic hot-work tool steels : damage, performance and microstructure

    Författare :Johnny Sjöström; Jens Bergström; Farhad Rezai-Aria; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Hot-work tool steel; thermal fatigue; microstructure; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Chromium martensitic hot-work tool steel (AISI H13) is commonly used as die material in hot forming techniques such as die casting, hot rolling, extrusion and hot forging. They are developed to endure the severe conditions by high mechanical properties attained by a complex microstructure. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Microstructure and Properties of Additively Manufactured Tool Steels for Hot Stamping

    Författare :Miwen Yuan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tool Steels; Wear; Hot stamping; Additive Manufacturing; Softening Resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Hot work tool steels are commonly used to produce dies for hot stamping, where the steels are exposed to cyclic thermal and mechanical loads. There is a constant demand to improve the lifetime of the dies. Additive manufacturing (AM) provides new solutions for tool design. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multicomponent diffusional reactions in tool steels : Experiment and Theory

    Författare :Greta Lindwall; Malin Selleby; Karin Frisk; John Ågren; Carelyn Campbell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :hot-work tool steel; precipitation hardening; DICTRA; coarsening; mobilities; CALPHAD; cobalt; PM tool stees; nitrogen; compound materials;

    Sammanfattning : Many phenomena determining the microstructure of a tool steel and consequently the properties of the material, are governed by multicomponent diffusion. The diffusion driven reactions that take place during, for example, tempering of a hot-work tool steel or when the microstructure develops during hot isostatic pressing of cold-work tool steel, are dependent on the types and amounts of alloying elements. 4. 4. Tool steel for tool holder applications : microstructure and mechanical properties

    Författare :Anna Medvedeva; Jens Bergström; Birger Karlsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tool steel; tool holder; microstructure; mechanical properties; machinability; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Large improvements in cutting tool design and technology, including the application of advanced surface engineering treatments on the cemented carbide insert, have been achieved in the last decades to enhance tool performance. However, the problem of improving the tool body material is not adequately studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Performance of advanced tool steels for cutting tool bodies

    Författare :Anna Medvedeva; Jens Bergström; Pavel Krakhmalev; Staffan Gunnarsson; Volker Schulze; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tool steel; cutting tool body; fatigue strength; stress relaxation; machinability; high-temperature properties; microstructure; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Performance of indexable insert cutting tools is not only about the performance of cutting inserts. It is also about the cutting tool body, which has to provide a secure and accurate insert positioning as well as its quick and easy handling under severe working conditions. LÄS MER
