6. Amperometric Carbon Paste Biosensors Based on Horseradish Peroxidase and Oxidases
Sammanfattning : Amperometric carbon paste peroxide sensors based on horseradish peroxidase (HRP) were developed. In the first approach, HRP was chemically modified with polyethylene glycol to improve the stability of the enzyme in the organic paste matrix and compared with native HRP electrode. LÄS MER
7. Barrier function of the Follicle-Associated Epithelium in Stress and Crohn's disease
8. Properties of the endothelial cells and the glomerular barrier
Sammanfattning : The kidneys are vital organs that filter plasma to produce 180 liters of primary urine per day. Only 1% of this volume is excreted and the rest is reabsorbed. Naturally, such huge amounts of fluid must be well controlled to maintain the homeostasis, which is a prerequisite for life. LÄS MER

10. Neuronal tracers for fine caliber spinal primary afferents and their response to peripheral nerve injury
Sammanfattning : The isolectin B4 from Griffonia simplicifolia I (B4) and soybean agglutinin from the plant Glycine max (SBA), have been shown to bind to rat small-diameter dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons, and to fibers and presumed terminals in laminae I-II of the spinal cord dorsal horn. In the present thesis, these lectins and/or their horseradish peroxidase (HRP) conjugates, have been investigated in the rat with regard to their usefulness as selective neuronal markers of and axonally transported tracers for somatic and/or visceral spinal primary afferents with fine caliber, including unmyelinated, axons.
