11. The central cervical nucleus in the rat : studies on connectivity, function and chemical transmission
Sammanfattning : The central cervical nucleus (CCN) is a spinocerebellar cell group in the upper cervical spinal cord (rat: Cl-C3), that is known to receive a powerful primary afferent input from, the upper cervical spinal nerves (C 1-C4), originating mainly from muscle spindle afferents in deep dorsal neck muscles and from the ipsi- and contralateral vestibular nuclei. It projects to the cerebellar vermis bilaterally and to all the vestibular nuclei contralaterally. LÄS MER
12. Development of a Bioelectronic Tongue -Applications for Wastewater Analysis
Sammanfattning : A bioelectronic tongue has been developed for applications in wastewater analysis. The development of a biosensor array with complex signal analysis started from the idea of using group-selective phenol biosensors (tyrosinase and horseradish peroxidase) with chemometric analysis for signal processing. 13. Different neurophysiological methods for studying the vestibular system : evaluation of old methods and development of a new test procedure
Sammanfattning : Different methods were used to study the physiology and anatomy of the vestibular system. 1) A primary vestibular cortical area in the cat was located and tested for somatosensory inflow by recordings of vestibular evoked potentials and extracellular single unit activity. LÄS MER
14. Bifunctional ADAPTs: Opportunity for serological Half-life extension and Targeted therapy
Sammanfattning : Small engineered scaffold proteins (ESPs) gain more and more popularity as biological drugs, due to their specificity and applicability in diagnostics and therapy. Thanks to their high stability, low immunogenicity and low production cost, they present themselves as a promising alternative to the market-leading antibodies. LÄS MER
15. Nanoporous Aluminum Oxide – A Promising Support for Modular Enzyme Reactors
Sammanfattning : Nanoporous alumina is a rather newly characterized material that so far has found limited use in the construction of bioreactors. The material has many advantages compared to conventional immobilization matrices. I have investigated its use in flow-through bioreactors. LÄS MER
