  1. 6. Group I Introns and Homing Endonucleases in T-even-like Bacteriophages

    Författare :Linus Sandegren; Britt-Marie Sjöberg; Renée Schroeder; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bacteriophage; Self-splicing introns; Homing endonucleases; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Homing endonucleases are rare-cutting enzymes that cleave DNA at a site near their own location, preferentially in alleles lacking the homing endonuclease gene (HEG). By cleaving HEG-less alleles the homing endonuclease can mediate the transfer of its own gene to the cleaved site via a process called homing, involving double strand break repair. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Homing Endonucleases and Horizontal Gene Transfer in Bacteria and Bacteriophages

    Författare :David Nord; Britt-Marie Sjöberg; Steinar Johansen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dsDNA cleavage; ribonucleotide reductase; GIY-YIG motif; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Homing endonuclease genes (HEGs) are selfish genetic elements that mediate their own super-Mendelian inheritance. This is mediated by the homing endonuclease cleavage of a HEG- allele followed by recombination-repair with a HEG+ allele.The majority of the HEGs are encoded in intervening sequences (IVSs). 3. 8. Phenotype and function of CD25+ regulatory T cells in infants and adults

    Författare :Hanna Grindebacke; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Immunology; CD4 CD25 FOXP3 regulatory T cells; human; allergy; IL-10; Systemic immunotherapy; migration; homing receptors; maturation;

    Sammanfattning : Active suppression by CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Treg) is essential for the maintenance of peripheral tolerance to both self antigens and environmental antigens. Absence of these cells in human newborns leads to autoimmune and inflammatory disorders as well as allergic disease. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The ontogeny and function of intestinal dendritic cells

    Författare :Emma Persson; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mesenteric lymph nodes; Intestine; Dendritic cells; Gut-homing; Th17 cells; Oral tolerance; Immunity;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal mucosa presents a huge surface area to the external environment and the intestinal immune system is continually exposed to a wide array of foreign antigens derived from resident intestinal microbiota as well as dietary constituents, including food proteins. In order to maintain intestinal homeostasis, the intestinal immune system relies on the ability to generate tolerogenic responses to innocuous antigen while maintaining the ability to develop effective immune responses to intesinal pathogens. 5. 10. Displacing Diversity : How Social Mix Interventions are Legitimised, Experienced and Resisted in a Danish Neighbourhood

    Författare :Rebecka Söderberg; Erica Righard; Carina Listerborn; Tina Gudrun Jensen; Marie Stender; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Ghetto policies; Racialisation; Commodification; Un-homing; Resistance; Global politik; Global politics;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis explores residents’ experiences of and resistance to social mix interventions, as well as how these interventions are legitimised in policies. This is studied through an ethnographic approach to policies combined with ethnographic fieldwork in a neighbourhood targeted by social mix interventions. LÄS MER
