  1. 1. EFFECTOR T CELL HOMING TO THE SMALL INTESTINAL MUCOSA

    Författare :Hanna Stenstad; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transplantation; Immunologi; Immunology; serology; homing; intestine; GALT; chemokine receptor; lymphocyte; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal mucosa, including the intestinal epithelium and underlying lamina propria (LP), contains a large number of effector/memory T cells that are thought to play a central role in the generation and maintenance of mucosal immune responses and in maintaining mucosal integrity. The work in this thesis investigates the mechanisms regulating effector T cell recruitment to the small intestinal mucosa focusing on the role of chemokine receptors in this process. LÄS MER

  2. 2. T lymphocyte recruitment in Helicobacter pylori-associated diseases

    Författare :Karin Enarsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Helicobacter pylori; homing; T lymphocytes; gastric adenocarcinoma; regulatory T cells;

    Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection is associated with pronounced infiltration of granulocytes and lymphocytes into the gastric mucosa, resulting in active chronic gastritis that may develop into duodenal ulcer disease or gastric adenocarcinoma (GC). Infiltrating T cells play a major role in the pathology of these diseases, but the signals involved in recruitment of T cells from blood to H. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Migratory behaviour and adaptive divergence in life-history traits of pike (Esox lucius)

    Författare :Petter Tibblin; Per Larsson; Anders Forsman; Asbjørn Vøllestad; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conservation; evolution; homing; local adaptation; management; phenotypic variation; population divergence; selection; sympatric;

    Sammanfattning : Population divergence shaped by natural selection is central to evolutionary ecology research and has been in focus since Darwin formulated “The origin of species”. Still, the process of adaptive divergence among sympatric populations is poorly understood. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Trafficking of Human Dendritic Cells and B cells in Helicobacter pylori-induced Gastritis

    Författare :Malin Hansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Helicobacter pylori; migration; homing; dendritic cells; B cells; gastric mucosa;

    Sammanfattning : Infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori is widespread throughout the world, and is associated with development of gastric and duodenal ulcer disease as well as gastric adenocarcinoma and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. The infection generally leads to a large infiltration of immune cells, among them dendrite cells (DC) and IgA-secreting cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Chemokines and Integrins in Lymphocyte Development and Localization

    Författare :Jan Marsal; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; serologi; transplantation; serology; Immunology; homing; development; IEL; lymphocytes; chemokines; integrins;

    Sammanfattning : The small intestine contains a large number of T lymphocytes within the single-layered epithelium that separates the gut lumen from the lamina propria. These intraepithelial T lymphocytes have potent cytolytic and immunoregulatory capacities, thought to be important for fighting infections, neoplastic growth, and sustaining epithelial integrity.
