16. On Bundle Branch Block and Acute Myocardial Infarction
Sammanfattning : Studies from the pre-thrombolytic era showed that patients with bundle branch block suffering acute myocardial infarction had worse prognosis compared to patients without bundle branch block. It seems that this difference still exists in the thrombolytic era, at least for short-term mortality. LÄS MER
17. Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients treated by emergency medical systems in Sweden 1990-1995
Sammanfattning : Between Jan 1990 and May 1995 the Swedish Cardiac Arrest Registry collected and analysed 14,065 standardised reports on cardiac arrests. The reports emanated from approximately half of Sweden's ambulance districts, which cover five of Sweden's 8.7 million inhabitants. LÄS MER
18. Antiarrhythmic and arrhythmic effects of an Ikr-blocking class III agent. A clinical and electrocardiographic study of almokalant
Sammanfattning : The interest in class III drugs has increased over the last decades as being potent antiarrhythmic agents in their mode of action by prolongation of repolarization and with no effect on conduction. Class I antiarrhythmic agents have proven effective in conversion of atrial fibrillation (AF), but may cause serious proarrhythmia. LÄS MER
19. Local regulation of the endogenous fibrinolytic system in man
Sammanfattning : The physiologically most important activator of intravascular fibrinolysis is tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA). The endothelium synthesises and stores tPA and regulated release of the enzyme is an important mechanism for removal of fibrin from blood vessels. Plasminogen activator inhibitor type-1 (PAI-1) is the main inhibitor of tPA. LÄS MER
20. On the dynamic ST-segment during acute myocardial infarction
Sammanfattning : Acute myocardial infarction is the single most common cause of death for both men and women in Sweden. Great efforts have over the years successfully been made to improve immediate treatment and care, and thereby prognosis. However, inadequacies in use of new knowledge and technology have been reported in this field. LÄS MER
