    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to analyze the establishment and development of lectureships in the Swedish language in German universities during the first half of the 20th century. Building on earlier research about the role of language teaching abroad for public diplomacy, the study sees the lecturer as a part of both the the academic and political fields in Germany and Sweden.     Sammanfattning : This study analyzes narratives of individual Jewish experiences of discrimination and genocidal violence in Hungary during the period of 1920–1945.     Sammanfattning : The thesis focuses upon three universities in Sweden during its ‘Age of Greatness’, Uppsala, Dorpat and Åbo, with a special emphasis upon the universities academic jurisdiction. On the whole the universities saw State intervention as a useful tool in local conflicts with the surrounding town community but opposed that very same form of intervention when it tried to interfere in internal university matters.
