  1. 1. On high temperature oxidation resistance : Towards the materials genome of high temperature alloys

    Författare :Samuel Hallström; John Ågren; Roger Reed; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The efficiency of a heat engine increases with increasing service temperature. This leads to a demand for material that can withstand aggressive environments and sometimes also high load at higher and higher temperature. That is the rationale for the work of this thesis. 2. 2. High-Temperature Corrosion-Fatigue of Cast Alloys for Exhaust Manifolds

    Författare :Shengmei Xiang; Joakim Odqvist; Baohua Zhu; Johan Ahlström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High temperature; corrosion fatigue; low-cycle fatigue; cast alloys; high-temperature oxidation; intermetallic phase; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of gas-driven Otto engine and the corresponding usage of bio-fuels in heavy-duty engines will render the exhaust atmosphere more corrosive and bring a higher working temperature to exhaust manifolds. The current service material, a ferritic ductile cast iron called SiMo51, will soon meet its upper temperature limit set by the ferrite-austenite transformation at 860ºC. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microstructure and high temperature properties of Mo(Si,Al)2 - The effect of particle strengthening and alloying

    Författare :Aina Edgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microstructure; particle strengthening; Mo Si; Al 2; oxidation; alloying; high temperature mechanical properties;

    Sammanfattning : High temperature heating processes within the steel industries result in significant emissions of CO2, primarily due to the combustion of fossil fuels. Electrification of these processes, such as through the implementation of resistive heating elements, holds great promise for reducing emissions. LÄS MER
