  1. 1. On Evaluation of Working Conditions aboard High-Performance Marine Craft

    Författare :Pahansen de Alwis; Karl Garme; Anders Rosén; Joakim Dahlman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high-speed marine craft; human factors integration; whole-body vibration; epidemiology; musculoskeletal pain; fatigue; höghastighetsfartyg; human factors; HFI; helkroppsvibrationer; epidemiologi; muskuloskeletal smärta; utmattning; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : High-Performance Marine Craft (HPMC) is a complex system confronted by the stochastic nature of the waves challenging the safety of life at sea. The personnel aboard these craft are vulnerable to detrimental conditions, in fact, limiting the system’s performance evoking the significance of the Human Factors Integration (HFI) in the design and operation of these craft. 2. 2. Towards consonance in working conditions, health and performance aboard high-performance marine craft

    Författare :Manudul Pahansen de Alwis; Karl Garme; Anders Rosén; Stephen Myers; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high-speed craft; human factors; whole-body vibration; epidemiology; pain; fatigue; höghastighetsfartyg; mänskliga faktorn; helkroppsvibrationer; epidemiologi; smärta; trötthet; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The High-Performance Marine Craft (HPMC) is a complex man-machine system dealing with the stochastic nature of the sea. The occupants of these craft are challenged by the strenuous work environments resulting in various detrimental conditions and reducing the overall performance of the system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Hydroelasticity in Marine Hull Bottom Panels - Modeling and Characterization

    Författare :Ivan Stenius; Dan Zenkert; Pandeli Temarel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fluid-structure interaction; hydroelasticity; hull-water impact; high-speed craft; slamming; explicit finite element methods; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis is concerned with the localized problem of hydroelasticity in marine panel-water impacts with an overall aim to increase the efficiency of high-speed craft by application of more refined methods in the structural design. The work mainly focuses on numerical modeling of the hydroelastic problem and therewith related aspects in the modeling and characterization of hydroelasticity. LÄS MER
