21. Device Technology Based on High Temperature Superconductors and Microwave Breakdown in Gases
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with two separate fields of microwave technology. The first section treats microwave characterization and applications of high temperature superconducting (HTS) thin films, while the second section treats microwave breakdown in transmit-receive (TR) switches and in air. Within the first section, four main topics are adressed. LÄS MER
22. Design and Performance of Optically Pumped Semiconductor Disk Lasers with Wide Tuning Ranges
Sammanfattning : In this work I present a strategy for providing the possibility to select the wavelength, or color, of a semiconductor laser over a very large range, by cleverly designing the vital part of the laser: the gain element of a so called optically pumped semiconductor disk laser. Optically pumped semiconductor disk lasers (OP-SDLs) are a relatively new class of lasers showing great promise for future applications. LÄS MER
23. On small-signal analysis and control of the single- and the dual-active bridge topologies
Sammanfattning : High-frequency dc-dc converters are nowadays widely used in a diversity of power electronic applications. High operating frequencies entail a reduction in size of the passive components, such as inductors, capacitors and power transformers. LÄS MER
24. High Efficiency Inductive Power Transfer Systems for Vehicle Charging
Sammanfattning : Awareness of climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution has led to a transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. Wireless charging by inductive power transfer is a promising solution for charging electric vehicles. LÄS MER
25. Fabrication Technology for Efficient High Power Silicon Carbide Bipolar Junction Transistors
Sammanfattning : The superior characteristics of Silicon Carbide as a wide band gap semiconductor have motivated many industrial and non-industrial research groups to consider SiC for the next generations of high power semiconductor devices. The SiC Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) is one candidate for high power applications due to its low on-state power loss and fast switching capability. LÄS MER
