  2. 2. Near field immobilization of selenium oxyanions

    Författare :Anders Puranen; Mats Jonsson; Christophe Jegou; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Se-79; Selenium; Immobilization; Redox; Iron; Corrosion; Palladium; Catalyst; Spent Nuclear Fuel; Repository; Nuclear chemistry; Kärnkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The topic of this doctoral thesis is the potential near field immobilization of the radionuclide 79Se after intrusion of groundwater into a spent nuclear fuel canister in a repository. 79Se is a non naturally occurring long lived selenium isotope formed as a result of fission in nuclear fuel. 3. 3. Hållbar dialog? : Retorik i möten om svensk kärnavfallshantering

    Författare :Helena Hansson-Nylund; Brigitte Mral; Orla Vigsø; Mats Landqvist; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; rhetoric; dialogue; democracy; Habermas; risk communication; hearings; nuclear waste management; Retorik; Rhetoric;

    Sammanfattning : Rhetorical choices and strategies are central to democratic decision-making, especially regarding decisions on matters that are open for argumentation depending on perspective. The thesis considers public meetings on Swedish nuclear waste management as an example of rhetorical argumentation, specifically in relation to the project of finding a place for final deposition of the high-level spent nuclear fuel – with local geological investigation as a critical part of that project. Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the chemical and isotopic features of groundwater residing in the upper 1.2 km of sparsely fractured crystalline bedrock of the Baltic Shield. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Borehole sealing with expandable buffer clays in HLW disposal : Lab-scale performance

    Författare :Ting Yang; Jörn Kasbohm; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Two basically different multibarrier concepts for high-level radioactive waste (HLW) are the often cited KBS-3 V/H concepts, for isolating nuclear waste at 400-600 m depth and Very Deep Boreholes concepts (VDH) for placement at 2000-4000 m depth. Both make use of expandable clay as isolating medium of canisters with HLW and as backfill material in shafts and tunnels in repositories for safe disposal of such waste. LÄS MER
