1. Thermally Conductive High-Density Polyethylene Composites for Ground Heat Exchangers
Sammanfattning : Today, the energy used for the heating and cooling of offices, shopping centres, schools, residential areas, andother buildings is as large as 50% of the total energy consumption in the world. The climate change, globalwarming, and environmental issues have forced high requirements for energy efficiency and clean energyproduction in buildings. LÄS MER
2. Longterm performance of polyolefins in different environments including chlorinated water: antioxidant consumption and migration and polymer degradation
Sammanfattning : The long-term performance of stabilized polyolefins in different environments was studied with focus on antioxidant consumption and migration. Plaques of linear polyethylene (LPE) and branched polyethylene (BPE) were stabilized with Santonox® R (4,4'-Thiobis(6-tert-butyl-3-methylphenol)), Irganox® 1081 (2,2’-Thiobis(4-methyl-6-tertbutylphenol)), or Lowinox® 22M46 (2,2’-Methylenebis(6-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol)). 3. Polyethylene Blends, a Material Concept for Future HVDC-cable Insulation
Sammanfattning : High-voltage cables are a critical component of tomorrow’s power grids that seamlessly integrate hydro, wind and solar power. Further improvements in transmission capacity of both high-voltage alternating- and direct-current, HVAC and HVDC, cables are likely reached through improved insulation materials. LÄS MER
4. Preparation and Properties of Surface Modified Thin Polymer Films
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with preparation, modification and characterisation of thin polymer films. Most of the work has been performed using thin films of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) as a model system for systematic surface modifications by glow discharge plasma and UV/ozone treatments. 5. On the Dielectric Losses of Polyethylene at Medium and High Frequencies
Sammanfattning : AbstractAs mobile communication moves from 3G to 4G, the bandwidth used will be extended from 2 GHz to 5 GHz. The propagation loss is related to the 2.6:th power of frequency, thus a large increase in power consumption may be expected. LÄS MER
