1. Fast Methods for Vascular Segmentation Based on Approximate Skeleton Detection
Sammanfattning : Modern medical imaging techniques have revolutionized health care over the last decades, providing clinicians with high-resolution 3D images of the inside of the patient's body without the need for invasive procedures. Detailed images of the vascular anatomy can be captured by angiography, providing a valuable source of information when deciding whether a vascular intervention is needed, for planning treatment, and for analyzing the success of therapy. 2. Digital holography and image processing methods for applications in biophysics
Sammanfattning : Understanding dynamic mechanisms, morphology and behavior of bacteria are important to develop new therapeutics to cure diseases. For example, bacterial adhesion mechanisms are prerequisites for initiation of infections and for several bacterial strains this adhesion process is mediated by adhesive surface organelles, also known as fimbriae. 3. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts
Sammanfattning : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. LÄS MER
4. Pose Estimation and Structure Analysis of Image Sequences
Sammanfattning : Autonomous navigation for ground vehicles has many challenges. Autonomous systems must be able to self-localise, avoid obstacles and determine navigable surfaces. LÄS MER
5. Frequency Tracking for Speed Estimation
Sammanfattning : Estimating the frequency of a periodic signal, or tracking the time-varying frequency of an almost periodic signal, is an important problem that is well studied in literature. This thesis focuses on two subproblems where contributions can be made to the existing theory: frequency tracking methods and measurements containing outliers. LÄS MER
