  1. 1. Retrofitted Solar Domestic Hot Water System for Single-Family Electrically-Heated Houses: Development and testing

    Författare :Ricardo Bernardo; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar domestic hot water; retrofitting; single family electrically heated houses; high solar fraction; photovoltaic thermal concentrating hybrids; PVT; parabolic reflectors; CPC thermal collector.;

    Sammanfattning : In Sweden, there are roughly half a million single family houses that use electric heating for both domestic hot water production and space heating. Since electricity is the most expensive energy source in Sweden, it is interesting to install a high solar fraction solar thermal system to reduce the energy use in these houses. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Solar integrated heating systems: Applications in buildings and industries

    Författare :Puneet Kumar Saini; Joakim Widén; Xingxing Zhang; Frank Fiedler; Thomas Olofsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar heating systems; Renewable heating systems; Decarbonization; Solar thermal; Techno-economic analysis; Thermal energy storage.; Engineering Science with specialization in Civil Engineering and Built Environment; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot byggteknik och byggd miljö;

    Sammanfattning : “Heat is half” of the global final energy consumption, and the decarbonization of the heating sector is critical to achieving climate goals. This thesis employs a system modelling approach to evaluate renewable heating systems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Evaluation of a thermally driven heat pump for solar heating and cooling applications

    Författare :Corey Blackman; Chris Bales; Eva Thorin; Victoria Martin; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar energy; solar heating and cooling; sorption integrated; Reesbe företagsforskarskola; Reesbe företagsforskarskola; Energy- and Environmental Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Exploiting solar energy technology for both heating and cooling purposes has the potential of meeting an appreciable portion of the energy demand in buildings throughout the year. By developing an integrated, multi-purpose solar energy system, that can operate all twelve months of the year, a high utilisation factor can be achieved which translates to more economical systems. 4. 4. Characterization of selective solar absorbers : Experimental and theoretical modeling

    Författare :Tuquabo Tesfamichael; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the preparation, optical characterization and analyses of experimental work and theoretical modeling on selective solar absorbers used in solar thermal collectors. The overall goal has been to obtain efficient absorbers by optimizing the optical properties, and to improve their durability using cost-effective techniques. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Solar Type Stars as Calibrators : A Photometric and Spectroscopic Study on the Atmospheric Properties of Late-type Stars

    Författare :Anna Önehag; Ulrike Heiter; Andreas Korn; Bengt Gustafsson; Frank Grundahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stars: atmospheres; stars: late-type; techniques: photometric; stars: abundances; techniques: spectroscopic; Astronomy; Astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : Detailed knowledge of solar-type stars is essential in the understanding of the evolutionary past, presence and future of the Sun as well as the formation of its planetary system. Moreover, solar-type stars are of key significance for the study of the evolution of the Galaxy. The ages of solar-type stars map the full galactic evolution. LÄS MER
