16. Experimental Verification of Superconductor Digital Circuits
Sammanfattning : Superconducting digital technology based on Rapid Single Flux Quantum logic (RSFQ) offers more than 50 times advantages in speed and $100$ times less power consumption than today's mainstream semiconductor electronics. This technology is attractive for many applications and in particular for Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for multi-user detection in a 3G wireless systems being developed at Chalmers University. 17. Performance of high-frequency mechanical impact treatment for bridge application
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the performance of high-frequency mechanical impact (HFMI) treatment for implementation on new bridge designs. Fatigue strength improvement with HFMI can enable lightweight design of bridges and allow the utilisation of the benefits of high-strength steels. LÄS MER
18. Precision mass measurements : Final limit of SMILETRAP I and the developments of SMILETRAP II
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is high-precision mass-measurements performed with Penning trap mass spectrometers (PTMS). In particular it describes the SMILETRAP I PTMS and the final results obtained with it, the masses of 40Ca and that of the proton. LÄS MER
19. Module property verification : A method to plan and perform quality verifications in modular architectures
Sammanfattning : Modular product architectures have generated numerous benefits for companies in terms of cost, lead-time and quality. The defined interfaces and the module’s properties decrease the effort to develop new product variants, and provide an opportunity to perform parallel tasks in design, manufacturing and assembly. 20. Fundamental Control Performance Limitations for Interarea Oscillation Damping and Frequency Stability
Sammanfattning : With the transition towards renewable energy and the deregulation of the electricity markets, the power system is changing. Growing electricity demand and more intermittent power production increase the need for transfer capacity. Lower inertia levels due to a higher share of renewables increase the need for fast frequency reserves (FFR). LÄS MER
