1. Klasstillhörighetens subjektiva dimension : klassidentitet, sociala attityder och fritidsvanor
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this dissertation is to study the subjective class identification and the importance of this identification for social attitudes and leisure habits. Class identification is a significant, yet often neglected, area of research in the study of social class and stratification. LÄS MER
3. Valid causal inference in high-dimensional and complex settings
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to consider some challenges that arise when conducting causal inference based on observational data. High dimensionality can occur when it is necessary to adjust for many covariates, and flexible models must be used to meet convergence assumptions. The latter may require the use of a novel machine learning estimator. LÄS MER
4. High-Level Synthesis for SiLago : Advances in Optimization of High-Level Synthesis Tool and Neural Network Algorithms
Sammanfattning : Embedded hardware designs and their automation improve energy and engineering efficiency. However, these two goals are often contradictory. The attempts to improve energy efficiency often come at the cost of engineering efficiency and vice-versa. High-level synthesis (HLS) is a good example of this challenge. LÄS MER
5. High Frequency Tyre Vibrations
Sammanfattning : High frequency (above 1 kHz) noise generation from the tyre/road interaction is still not fully understood and accurately modelled. Two noise generation mechanisms previously suggested in the literature are reviewed: air pumping and noise generation cased by adhesive effects between the tyre tread and road surface.
