16. Development of Catalytic Enantioselective Approaches for the Synthesis of Carbocycles and Heterocycles
Sammanfattning : In biological systems, most of the active organic molecules are chiral. Some of the main constituents of living organisms are amino acids and sugars. They exist predominantly in only one enantiomerically pure form. LÄS MER
17. Advances in Stereoselective Palladium(ΙΙ)-Catalyzed Oxidative Transformations of Allenes
Sammanfattning : Palladium(ΙΙ)-catalyzed carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond formation via selective C-H bond oxidation constitutes a step-economical and versatile approach towards complex target molecules. This thesis has been focused on the development of new selective palladium(ΙΙ)-catalyzed transformations of allenes under oxidative conditions catalyzed by either homogenous or heterogeneous palladium(ΙΙ) catalysts. 18. Novel strategies for C-C/X bond formation
Sammanfattning : The formation of C-C/X bonds is essential for the manufacture of a broad range of chemicals and materials used in areas critical for maintaining quality of life in modern society, e.g. pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and polymers, and for aspects of research in organic chemistry. 19. On the Chemical Romance Between Gas and Surface, and how to Illuminate it
Sammanfattning : An increasing number of catalysis experiments are conducted at higher pressures to bridge the pressure gap. This means that we need to measure not only the sample surface but also the gas phase around the sample with spatial resolution. LÄS MER
20. Palladium Catalysis in Directed C-H Bond Activation and Cycloisomerisation Reactions
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis concerns the development of Pd(II)-catalysed synthetic methodologies for the preparation of biologically active compounds. In the first part (paper I-III), unactivated C–H bonds of a cyclobutane derivative are selectively functionalised using a directing group starting from the feedstock compound verbenone (paper I).
